Zetrix Blockchain To Include Global Citizens’ Votes in Beauty Pageant

  • Reinforces Real-World Blockchain Applications

Kuala Lumpur – 5 Aug 2024 – For the first time since its inaugural edition in 1964, The Miss Universe Malaysia Organization (MUMO) is empowering the global community to play a key role in selecting their ideal 2024 Miss Universe Malaysia through a blockchain-based voting system in the form of digital art collectibles.

Enhancing Transparency and Connection
Powered by title sponsor Zetrix’s blockchain technology, this official voting system allows the global community to purchase tokens to vote for their favourite contestants via the official website of MUMO, and receive free digital art collectibles. There are no limits on the number of digital art collectibles a supporter can buy or the contestants they can vote for. These votes will account for 50% of the final results, equal to the weight of the panel of judges’ votes.

Supporters can easily acquire these digital art collectibles using a Zetrix wallet, with the blockchain ensuring transparency and accuracy in vote verification. Voting will be open one to two weeks before the gala dinner in September.

Redefining Pageantry Standards in Web3 Era
Not only is the borderless, blockchain-powered official voting system in a beauty pageant unprecedented, but MUMO has also made a major announcement this year by removing age limits and marital status restrictions.

At a press conference held at the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur to announce the Top 16 finalists today, Eleen Yong, National Director of MUMO, said that MUMO is committed to working alongside global citizens to select a deserving winner from the 16 outstanding finalists to represent Malaysia at the 73rd Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico. “We believe in continuous improvement and evolving with the era. This collaborative effort will help us uncover Malaysia’s best on the global stage and set a new standard for future pageants worldwide,” she said.

Forward-Looking Collaboration
TS Wong, co-founder of Zetrix, remarked: “MUMO is setting a new standard in the landscape of beauty pageants. By integrating cutting-edge blockchain technology with a commitment to inclusivity and transparency, we’re not only transforming the way pageants are conducted but also empowering the global community to play a vital role in the selection process, staying true to the decentralised nature of blockchain”.

Global citizens are warmly invited to join Zetrix in shaping the future by actively participating in this process and contributing to the search for a well-rounded role model who embodies the values of the modern era.
